Yala or Udawalawe Safari

Yala National Park.

Yala National Park is the most popular destination for Wild Life safari.  It is most popular for Leopard and bears. It is covered 98,000 hectares.  Yala National Park is also home to Sri Lankan of 32 species of mammals have been recorded. The threatened species include sloth bear (Melursus ursinus), Leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya), elephant (Elephas maximus), water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis), Wild boar (Sus scrofa), spotted deer (Axis axis ceylonessis), sambar (Cervus unicolor) and golden jackal (Canis aureus).

Udawalawe National Park.

Udawalawe National Park lies on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces, in Sri Lanka. It is a sixth largest animal sanctuary of Sri Lanka is located 180 km from Colombo. It is quite possibly the best place in Sri Lanka to see elephants throughout the year as there are a few hundred elephants within the park, and you can sometimes witness a herd of females moving or bathing together in the wild.
